Canplats drills 146 m of 1.10 g/t gold at Represa zone

2007-11-26 07:34 ET - News Release

Mr. R.E. Gordon Davis reports

CANPLATS RESOURCES CORPORATION: INITIAL DRILLING CONFIRMS OXIDE GOLD/BASE METAL MINERALIZATION AT CAMINO ROJO

Canplats Resources Corp. has released the results from the first three reverse-circulation holes drilled in the Represa zone at the newly discovered Camino Rojo project in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. These holes confirm the presence of a widespread mineral system at the Represa zone.

All three holes intersected significant precious metal and base metal mineralization starting from surface, and were collared from the same location but drilled in different directions. Hole CR-01 was inclined at minus-50 degrees to the north; CR-02 at minus-50 degrees to the west and CR-03 at minus-50 degrees to the east. Holes CR-01 and CR-03 were mineralized over their entire length and contained 146 metres averaging 1.10 grams per tonne gold and 147 metres averaging 1.05 grams per tonne gold, respectively. Both of these holes ended in mineralization and will be deepened later in the program. Further results will be released as they are received.

(i) True width to be determined.
(ii) Hole ended in mineralization.

The mineralization is hosted by weak to moderately silicified, laminated siltstones and fine sandstones of the Caracol formation. There is moderate to intense hematite alteration and localized zones with weak to moderate brecciation and fine quartz micro-veinlets. These intersections were hosted entirely in oxide mineralization.

The continuing test pitting program in the Represa zone continues to enhance the results reported in Stockwatch on Oct. 22, 2007. Based on the new results, the zone has been expanded to an area measuring 600 metres by 450 metres. Within the Represa zone, the zone of higher-grade mineralization now measures approximately 300 metres by 200 metres. The zone remains open to the east and west where the test pitting could not reach bedrock.

Results of the expanded induced polarization (IP) geophysical study have been received. This work shows a distinct anomaly coinciding with the results of the mineralization defined by the test pitting program and intersected by the RC drilling at the Represa zone. The survey also identified a second distinct anomaly on the southwest corner of the grid. This second anomaly measures 400 metres by 600 metres, and is open to the southwest. A single drill hole has been completed to initially test this second anomaly and the results will be reported on receipt. The overburden in the hole was approximately 10 metres (30 feet) so no test pitting is planned for the second anomaly.

Based on these initial results, the reverse-circulation drill program will be extended into the new year and the IP geophysical survey will be expanded to cover a greater area. Two diamond drills are also scheduled to begin working on the property in the new year.

All work is being supervised by Ken McNaughton, vice-president, exploration, and a qualified person as defined by Canada's National Instrument 43-101 responsible for the Camino Rojo exploration program, and has verified the data in the table above. All samples were submitted for preparation in Chihuahua, Mexico, and analysis at its facilities in Vancouver, B.C., by ALS Chemex. All samples were analyzed using aqua-regia digestion with ICP finish. All gold samples were fire assayed with an AA finish and all samples over 10 parts per million gold were reassayed using a fire assay with a gravimetric finish. Samples over 100 parts per million silver were reanalyzed using four-acid digestion with an ore-grade AA finish. One in 20 samples was blind duplicate assayed at ALS Chemex in Vancouver, B.C.

We seek Safe Harbor.

Canplats drills 1.61 g/t Au over 183 m at Camino Rojo

2007-12-11 07:32 ET - News Release

Mr. R.E. Gordon Davis reports

CANPLATS RESOURCES CORPORATION: CAMINO ROJO DRILLING INTERSECTS 183 METERS AVERAGING 1.61 GRAMS PER TONNE GOLD FROM SURFACE

Canplats Resources Corp.'s 183-metre drill hole has intersected oxide gold and silver mineralization from surface in the Represa zone of the Camino Rojo project in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico.

CR-06, collared 45 metres south of CR-01 and inclined at minus-50 degrees to the north, intersected 183 metres averaging 1.61 grams of gold per tonne, 12.84 grams of silver per tonne, 0.49 per cent lead and 0.31 per cent zinc, including 72 metres averaging 2.59 grams of gold per tonne, 18.03 grams of silver per tonne, 0.76 per cent lead and 0.33 per cent zinc. These intersections were hosted entirely in oxide mineralization, and the hole ended in mineralization.

Maps of the drill program are available at the company's website.

Other results include hole CR-04, drilled 115 metres south of hole CR-01, inclined at minus-50 degrees to the north and drilled close to the southern limit of the Represa zone, which intersected 180 metres averaging 0.66 gram of gold per tonne, 11.55 grams of silver per tonne, 0.21 per cent lead and 0.34 per cent zinc. The bottom of hole CR-04 intersected 10 metres of sulphide mineralization averaging 0.78 gram of gold per tonne, 11.04 grams of silver per tonne, 0.16 per cent lead and 0.49 per cent zinc. The sulphide intersection is very significant as it confirms the exploration potential to depth below the zone of oxide mineralization.

Hole CR-05, inclined at minus-50 degrees to the west, was a wildcat hole drilled in a new area now called the Don Julio zone which was defined by an induced polarization (IP) geophysical study (see news as reported in Stockwatch Nov. 26, 2007). CR-05 intersected eight metres averaging 2.27 grams of gold per tonne and 5.56 grams of silver per tonne. These results confirm that the area is mineralized, and additional geophysical studies are under way to refine the drill targets in this large anomaly.

Ten holes have been drilled to date on the property, and drilling will continue into late December. Further results will be released as they are received.

All work is being supervised by Ken McNaughton, vice-president, exploration, and a qualified person as defined by Canada's National Instrument 43-101 responsible for the Camino Rojo exploration program, and has verified the data in the table. Sehr geehrte Abonnenten,

Neue Top-Empfehlung

Aufnahme in unser Portfolio

Mr. Bruce Youngman reports

CANPLATS RESOURCES CORPORATION: CAMINO ROJO DRILLING CONTINUES TO INTERSECT BROAD ZONES OF GOLD-SILVER-LEAD-ZINC MINERALIZATION

Canplats Resources Corp. has released the results of a further six reverse circulation drill holes completed in the Represa zone of the Camino Rojo project in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico.

Significant results include:

Drill hole CR-15 intersected 240 metres, averaging 0.84 gram per tonne gold, 17.81 grams per tonne silver, 0.36 per cent lead and 0.49 per cent zinc, and drill hole CR-20 returned 236 metres, averaging 0.63 gram per tonne gold, 20.21 grams per tonne silver, 0.33 per cent lead and 0.55 per cent zinc. Both holes were inclined at minus 50 degrees to the north and returned significantly higher grades than previously announced drill holes CR-08, CR-09 and CR-11, which were located on the same section and inclined at minus 50 degrees to the south (see news in Stockwatch on Jan. 21, 2008). The increased values in the north-directed holes may reflect a better penetration of both high-angle structures and southeast-dipping sedimentary host rocks.
Drill holes CR-17 through CR-19 were collared on a section located 100 metres to the west of previously reported drill holes CR-01, CR-04 and CR-06, and together with drill hole CR-16, have extended the mineralization to the west and northwest.

CANPLATS RESOURCES CORPORATION: CAMINO ROJO DIAMOND DRILLING FURTHER EXPANDS HIGHER-GRADE MINERALIZATION AT REPRESA

Canplats Resources Corp. has released the results of a further four diamond drill holes completed in the Represa zone of the Camino Rojo project in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico.

Diamond drill hole CRD-12, collared 70 metres to the southeast of previously announced drill hole CR-59, intersected strong sulphide mineralization to significant depths along the southwestern extension of the Represa zone. This hole returned 292.00 metres averaging 1.16 grams gold per tonne, 11.65 grams silver per tonne, 0.07 per cent lead and 0.40 per cent zinc, including 93.00 metres averaging 2.05 grams gold per tonne, 20.57 grams silver per tonne, 0.13 per cent lead and 0.84 per cent zinc. These intersections extend well below the previously reported higher-grade intersections in reverse-circulation drill holes CR-56, CR-57 and CR-59. Other diamond drill holes have confirmed continuity and extended the Represa zone mineralization to depth.

Drill results are summarized in the attached table.

The company has commenced a program of reconnaissance-style tensor IP geophysical surveys to the southwest and southeast of the Represa-Don Julio zones. This program will be expanded to areas of favourable alteration associated with at least three regional magnetic features that may represent covered intrusive centres. One of these areas, known as Camino Rojo Dos, is situated 20 kilometres to the west-southwest of the Represa zone, and was discovered through similar surface prospecting methods to the Camino Rojo discovery. In both cases, red hematitic crushed rock was being used as local road fill and traced back to nearby bedrock sources. Initial sampling of limited rock exposures at Camino Rojo Dos has returned low gold values, however, the alteration and structural setting suggests that it may be situated in close proximity to a sizable mineral system.

The company has also recently acquired additional concessions to the immediate west and southwest of the Camino Rojo property, expanding the total project size to 340,000 hectares (more than 1,300 square miles).

Four drills continue to delineate and test for extensions of the Represa zone mineralization along strike and to depth. Drilling is currently following up recently announced extensions of the Represa zone mineralization to the west-southwest and east-northeast. In addition, diamond drilling has commenced at the Don Julio zone to test below and adjacent to favourable alteration and trace element geochemistry encountered in shallow reverse-circulation drill holes. The company is planning on replacing one reverse circulation drill rig with an additional diamond drill when it becomes available.

The Camino Rojo property is 100 per cent owned by Canplats and located in an area of excellent infrastructure, 50 kilometres to the southeast of Goldcorp's Penasquito mine. Maps of the drill program and reconnaissance targets on the Camino Rojo property will be available at the Canplats website.

All work is being supervised by Ken McNaughton, vice-president, exploration, and a qualified person as defined by Canada's National Instrument 43-101, responsible for the Camino Rojo exploration program and has verified the data in the attached table. All samples were submitted for preparation in Guadalajara, Mexico, and analysis at its facilities in Vancouver, B.C., by ALS Chemex. All samples were analyzed using aqua-regia digestion with ICP finish. All gold samples were fire assayed with an AA finish and all samples over 10 parts per million gold were reassayed using a fire assay with a gravimetric finish. Samples over 100 parts per million silver were reanalyzed using four-acid digestion with an ore grade AA finish. One in 20 samples was blind duplicate assayed at ALS Chemex in Vancouver, B.C.
