The audited financial results also reflect the discontinued operations relating to the Company's former telecommunications business and the cost of issuing securities during 2006.
Year-end company highlights reflect an increase in the number of software licensing agreements from original equipment manufacturers that are expected to be the basis for increased revenue in 2007. Fonix Video Game Technologies Gaining Momentum
Monday June 11, 9:00 am ET

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fonix Speech, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Fonix® Corporation (OTCBB: FNIX - News) specializing in embedded speech interfaces for mobile devices, handheld electronic products, video game consoles, data base systems and processors, announces increased momentum in sales of its speech technologies for video games.
"During the last few months, Fonix has realized sales revenue for all four of our specialized video game products," says Tim K. Hong, VP of Gaming, Fonix Speech, Inc. "In addition to revenue from voice recognition for video games, we now benefit from increased demand for our other specialized video game products as developers search for specific voice recognition and synthesis solutions that meet particular implementation needs."

Fonix markets a specialized suite of four software solutions for video game developers:

Fonix VoiceIn® Game Edition Fonix VoiceIn is speaker-independent voice recognition that allows developers to add voice command and control to video games, so players can direct game play by speaking. The software is optimized to use very little processing power or memory. Fonix voice recognition adds a fun, interactive player interface.
Fonix VoiceIn(TM) Karaoke Edition With this specialized turnkey solution, Fonix makes it easy for developers to create karaoke-themed games. Fonix voice recognition technology compares the timing, pitch and voice of the karaoke singer to the reference song and reports on the accuracy of the player's singing.
Fonix VoiceIn(TM) Phonetic Edition This new Fonix speech solution is designed specifically for video game animators. VoiceIn Phonetic Edition aligns word phonetics with audio data, allowing animators to more precisely synchronize an animated character's facial movements with the phonetic components of speech. The technology utilizes input text to break down the phonetic components of words. The result is more realistic facial movement as animated characters "speak."
FonixTalk(TM) Text-to-Speech (TTS) FonixTalk TTS software features the industry's smallest memory footprint, making it ideal for gaming applications. FonixTalk's quality of synthetic speech surpasses previous levels and approaches the sound characteristics of a human voice. FonixTalk comes in an array of languages and voices including male, female and child voices.
"We expect video games will be released this year that integrate all of these Fonix products," says Hong. "Some games will be developed and ready for the market with as many as three Fonix gaming solutions in a single game."

"Fonix engineers have optimized our speech technologies to not only improve the quality of the voice recognition and text-to-speech, but also to make it even easier for developers to implement these features into their games," says D. Lynn Shepherd, Senior VP of Product Strategy, Fonix Speech, Inc. "We're delighted to see game manufacturers take these new development tools and utilize them in interesting ways. Games are only getting more engaging, more realistic and more remarkable. Fonix is proud to be at the forefront of this effort by offering cutting-edge middleware that's easily implemented by creative developers. Video game players are the real winners; they will soon be playing games unimagined five years ago."

There are currently 20 retail video games available that feature Fonix speech technology from developers such as Ubisoft, EA Sports, Knowledge Adventure, NovaLogic and others.

All Fonix speech technologies for video game development are available directly from Fonix Speech. Call (801) 553-6600 and say "Sales" for demos and pricing.
