Australia's Mincor to expand nickel output through 68.5 mln aud acquisition
SYDNEY (XFN-ASIA) - Nickel miner Mincor Resources (Nachrichten) NL said it has agreed to pay privately owned Goldfields Mine Management Pty Ltd (GMM) 68.5 mln aud in a deal that will see the former acquire its fifth operating mine in Western Australia's Kambalda region.
Mincor said GMM's assets include the operational Otter Juan nickel mine as well as the previously mined Durkin and McMahon projects.
Mincor chief executive David Moore said the transaction will provide immediate financial returns.
'We see the Otter Juan, McMahon and Durkin projects as forming a major new production and exploration center for Mincor,' Moore said in a statement.
He said the deal will put the company within reach of a target to produce 20,000 metric tons of nickel a year.
Mincor currently operates four nickel mines in the Kambalda region which produce about 15,000 tons of nickel annually.
At 1.10 pm, here, Mincor was up 0.22 aud or 5.7 pct at 4.08 aud while the S&P/ASX 200 up 48.6 points or 0.76 pct at 6,345.4.

vor ein paar Wochen das letzte mal hier hereingeschaut,dachte an Wertzuwachs,leider sieht's jetzt nicht ganz so rosig aus.Gut vielleicht in paar Monaten sieht's dann wieder anders aus.Jedenfalls reicht mir mein Bestand derzeit guten Zinz eingefahren und mal sehen was mit den restlichen 20% noch passiert.:-)))
