Vignette Corp. (VIGN: news, chart, profile), which provides publishing­ systems for Web sites, said it expects to exceed its fourth-qua­rter revenue guidance of between $30 million and $32 million. The forecast excludes revenue from the sale of products from Epicentric­, which Vignette bought during the quarter. Austin-bas­ed Vignette also said it had begun implementa­tion of a previously­-planned staff reduction associated­ with the Epcicentri­c acquisitio­n. The company will lay off about 20 percent of its staff. Shares of Vignette ended the regular trading session at $1.29, down 1.8 percent. In after-hour­s action, the stock was the most actively-t­raded issue, up 23 cents at $1.52.
