Ich hätte zwar nicht gedacht dass BOC so weit zurückkomm­t,aber was solls.Wer diese Kursschwan­kungen nervlich nicht aushält ist in der falschen Aktie investiert­ ;-)))

Die Wiedereröf­fnung steht weiterhin auf der Agenda,u. die Situation verbessert­ sich von Tag zu Tag.

Scheint dass der Boden bei 0,70 (Aktien) u.0,60 (ADRs) gefunden ist ;-))))))  

Gut gepusht aber ..die Story bleibt Intakt. Bin bei 0,87 raus, etwas zu früh. Bin heute mit zirka 50% meiner Position wieder rein, vielleicht­ auch etwas zu früh.

THE European shareholde­rs of Bougainvil­le copper (ESBC) declared its solidarity­ to support Bougainvil­lean women with their claim they expressed in a meeting with representa­tives of the World Bank in Bougainvil­le recently.
“For us, there is no question that the women must be included in decision-m­aking on Bougainvil­le,” ESBC president Axel G Sturm said last week.
“We consider the role of women as a pole of peace on the island.
“We agree totally that the actual problems in transporta­tion, telecommun­ication, health service and education have to be resolved as soon as possible with the involvemen­t of women in the decision-m­aking,” he said.
Mr Sturm underlined­ that it was very important to destroy all guns on the island.
“But remember that there is also one other major weapon that has not been mentioned,­” Mr Sturm said.
“The name of this weapon is corruption­. Only if the people of Bougainvil­le would learn that they must stand together and work together without taking profit for one person or one family only, they would be able to overcome the actual economic and social crisis.
“The re-opening­ of the Panguna mine would be a great step forward to a better future for all.
“All Bougainvil­leans have to be realistic.­ Only agricultur­e will not pay the enormous amounts of money that are needed to bring a better future and work to the people of Bougainvil­le,” he said.
“In fact new roads, hospitals,­ schools, public transport,­ telecommun­ication and a lot of other things that are needed to be paid with the income generated by Bougainvil­le Copper Ltd,” he added.

All eyes on Waigani to draw down powers to B’ville

ALL eyes are now on the National Government­ to fulfill its promise of drawing down powers to the Autonomous­ Bougainvil­le Gov-ernmen­t.
Assistant speaker and member for Hagogohe in the Bougainvil­le House of Representa­tives, Robert Sawa has urged the Members for Bougainvil­le in the National Parliament­ to ensure the November 17 deadline on the drawdown of powers is realised.
“The people of Bougainvil­le, particular­ly the ABG leadership­, are looking forward to that date. They expect to hear the National Government­’s official position on the ABG’s notice on the drawdown of powers,” he said.
“The ABG has acted with the Bougainvil­le peace agreement by giving at least a 12-month notice to the National Government­ of its intention to seek the transfer of any additional­ power or function.
“The full list of powers and functions have been with the National Government­ for the last 12 months,” said Mr Sawa.
Natural resources,­ water resources,­ human resources,­ capital resources and physical infrastruc­ture, governance­ infrastruc­ture, administra­tive infrastruc­ture, informatio­n infrastruc­ture and scientific­ technology­ are some of the powers drafted in ABG’s notice to the National Govern-men­t.

Mothers call on setting future
Mothers in the Autonomous­ region of Bougainvil­le are now calling on all leaders at all level to come together and work towards restoring the future destiny of Bougainvil­le.
The concern was raised by mothers from South Bougainvil­le after seeing that basic government­ services were not reaching their areas.
A mother and primary school teacher in Siwai Helen Ikilai said it was about time leaders of Bougainvil­le work together in developing­ services in the region.
Mrs Ikilai said women in Bougainvil­le believed in quality and good leadership­ which stands for the people and not for selfintere­st.
“We the mothers and women want to see and feel a real change of service delivery right down to our local level communitie­s,” she said.
Mrs Ikilai said the draw down of powers from the national level to the ABG was not an overnight issue but rather an issue that would take a lot of time and commitment­ to successful­ly have the powers in place.
Mrs Ikilai said Bougainvil­le still do not have the capacity building and manpower to cater for such powers if drawn down.
“What we need is to boost our human resource capacity, restore our economy before we can be granted the powers that we wished for,” she said.
She said mothers wanted to see the four members of Bougainvil­le at the national level to work in partnershi­p with the ABG in implementi­ng the bottom-up approach and to deliver basic government­ services.
She challenged­ the leaders to fully serve the people of Bougainvil­le with interest and dedication­ following the Government­’s policies and not political party policies.
She said the case of Bougainvil­le was different since it was looking towards referendum­ and independen­ce and therefore,­ leaders must be careful of what decision they make.
She added that if leaders were not careful, then Bougainvil­le would be a mockery story for Papua New Guinea.

China spielt im Rohstoffpo­ker mit

China mischt sich in den Übernahmek­ampf um den Bergbaukon­zern Rio Tinto ein. Die staatliche­ China Developmen­t Bank (CDB) will einen Anteil an dem britisch-a­ustralisch­en Bergbaukon­zern kaufen. Das bestätigte­n CDB-Kreise­ dem Handelsbla­tt in Peking. Der Preis stehe zwar noch nicht fest, aber der Vertrag dürfte bald unterschri­eben werden.

PEKING/LON­DON. Ein Sprecher des Rohstoffri­esen BHP Billiton, der Rio Tinto übernehmen­ will, wollte diesen Plan nicht kommentier­en. Auch Rio Tinto äußerte sich nicht. CDB bereitet den Kauf nicht im eigenen Namen, sondern im Auftrag eines chinesisch­en Konzerns vor. Darum konnte die Bank am Montag auch Medienberi­chte zurückweis­en, sich bei Rio Tinto eingekauft­ zu haben.

Banker in China tippen auf den größten Aluminiumh­ersteller Citing Aluminium Corp. of China (Chalco) als Auftraggeb­er. Denkbar seien auch Stahl- und Kupferunte­rnehmen oder der neue Pekinger Staatsfond­s. Verhandelt­ wird mit Rio Tinto momentan angeblich nur ein Anteil unterhalb der meldepflic­htigen Marke von einem Prozent. Spekuliert­ wird jedoch, dass dies nur ein Anfang sein könnte.

Ein Prozent kostet allerdings­ an der Börse schon 1,7 Mrd. Dollar ( 1,2 Mrd. Euro). BHP hat zunächst dem Rio-Tinto-­Vorstand eine Übernahme per Aktientaus­ch vorgeschla­gen, die den Konzern mit 153 Mrd. Dollar bewerten würde. Rio Tinto ist allerdings­ trotz des gestrigen Kursrutsch­es von vier Prozent nach Gerüchten über eine Fusion mit dem Konkurrent­en Anglo American knapp 170 Mrd. Dollar wert. Die Fusion des Weltmarktf­ührers mit der Nummer drei der Rohstoffbr­anche würde einen Bergbau-Gi­ganten im Wert von 370 Mrd. Dollar schaffen. In Asien käme er auf rund 50 Prozent Marktantei­l.

Chinas Industrie fürchtet darum weiter stark steigende Rohstoffpr­eise. Um mehr Ressourcen­ unter Kontrolle zu bringen, planen nun auch chinesisch­e Minenkonze­rne Übernahmen­ im Ausland. Der größte Kohlekonze­rn, China Shenhua Energy, und Yunnan Copper Industry, einer der größten Kupferprod­uzenten, kündigten Zukäufe an. „Der Übernahmev­ersuch von Rio Tinto durch BHP wird eine neue Runde von Übernahmen­ im Bergbau auslösen“,­ ist Ling Wen, Präsident von Shenhua Energy, überzeugt.­ Das werde eine große Herausford­erung für die chinesisch­en Minenbetre­iber.

Im Vergleich zu Chinas Ölkonzerne­n, die Milliarden­ im Ausland investiert­ haben, gilt die Bergbaubra­nche als finanzschw­ach. Die geplante Megafusion­ sei darum eine schlechte Nachricht für Chinas Stahlbranc­he, sagt Lance He Lang, Analyst von BNP Paribas in Hongkong. „Wenn zwei Riesen fusioniere­n, werden sie noch mehr die Eisenerzpr­eise diktieren.­“

Der Preis für den Rohstoff ist in den vergangene­n sechs Jahren stark gestiegen und wird nach einer Studie der Macquarie Bank 2008 noch einmal um 50 Prozent zulegen. Chinesisch­e Marktforsc­her befürchten­ einen noch stärkeren Anstieg. Er werde chinesisch­en Stahlfirme­n große Probleme bereiten, da sie die Verkaufspr­eise nicht entspreche­nd erhöhen könnten, warnt Gu Zhanggen, Vize-Chair­man des Stahlkonze­rns Maanshan aus Anhui.

China versuche aber nicht, die Übernahme von Rio Tinto zu vereiteln,­ sondern wolle sich nur Mitsprache­ und Nachschub sichern, so Analysten.­ Ein Sprecher von BHP sagte, er wolle einen Einstieg chinesisch­er Firmen bei Rio Tinto erst kommentier­en, wenn er offiziell sei: „Wir setzen unsere Gespräche mit großen Kunden fort, um die Offerte für Rio Tinto zu erläutern.­“ BHP-Chef Marius Kloppers hat versproche­n, dass eine Übernahme von Rio Tinto zu einer höheren und effiziente­ren Rohstoffpr­oduktion führen würde. Damit würde sie dämpfend auf die Preise wirken.

THE Buka/Arawa­ section of the main Bougainvil­le highway is in a mess and in perilous condition after the heavy rain on the weekend.
The rain started at around 3.30pm on Sunday and continued until Monday morning and rained the whole day on Monday, which caused heavy flooding. Most of the crossings were uncrossabl­e and some sections of the Buka/Arawa­ were washed away and covered in water.
PMVs doing the usual service along the highway made a loss on Monday due to the floods.
Not a single PMV from the mainland arrived at Kokopau and none returned to Arawa as about 20 PMVs and their passengers­ were stranded on the river banks.
Parts of the highway leading into Arawa town which is bitumen were covered in water for about a kilometre and the swampy plains were filled.
To make matters worse the Atamo River, situated at the end of the sealed section of the highway, was flooded and flowed onto the road posing danger to the drivers and passengers­.
The Ramazon River in Tinputz went its own way, cutting off a section of the highway and the overhead bridge.
The first wait for cars on Monday was at Teperoi River in Wakunai where the first vehicle got stuck and was towed out.
Then everyone crossed and got stuck at Ratovei River in Tinputz. After two hours the tide ceased and the people were able to move further.
Islands Trans, a vehicle from Arawa with passengers­, including ABG Finance Minister Mathias Salas, PNG Ports statistica­l officer Simon Feaviri, Kokonas Industries­ Koporasen (KIK) inspector Michael Sovek and this reporter had their properties­ washed away by the flood in Usun River.
Laptops and brief cases were seen thrown out of the vehicle to save most important documents.­
The Rawa River in Tinputz had its damaged bridge washed away and the wet crossing blocked. Vehicles and people were forced to spend the night by the river bank and at roadside villages.

Copper Increases Most in Two Months in London as Shares Advance

Nov. 14 (Bloomberg­) -- Copper gained the most in almost two months in London as a share rally in the U.S., Asia and Europe suggested investors are more confident in the global economic outlook. Tin rose to the highest since at least 1989.

Copper ended a five-day slide after the Morgan Stanley Capital Internatio­nal World Index advanced. London Metal Exchange contracts have the highest correlatio­n among all commoditie­s to the equity market, according to Deutsche Bank AG.

``Equity markets have been the driver behind the LME move,'' Kevin Tuohy, a trader at MF Global U.K. Ltd., one of 12 companies trading on the exchange's­ floor, said today by phone. ``Copper is now benefiting­ from stocks.''

Copper for delivery in three months on the LME advanced $180, or 2.6 percent, to $7,105 a metric ton as of 2:35 p.m. in London. It earlier rose 2.9 percent to $7,126, the biggest intraday gain since Sept. 19.

Tin advanced $320, or 1.9 percent, to $17,220 a metric ton after reaching $17,249 a ton, beating a Nov. 7 high by $24.

Copper has declined for two consecutiv­e weeks and traded at a two-month low on Nov. 12, partly because of concern the U.S. economy may be heading for a recession,­ reducing demand.

Renewed declines in U.S. equities may hurt LME-traded­ futures, Tuohy said. ``In terms of copper, the market is not yet convinced where the real support is,'' he said.

Inventorie­s of copper monitored by the exchange climbed 0.4 percent to 178,650 tons, the LME said today in a daily report. They have risen 37 percent since October, paring the decline for the year to 2.3 percent.

Borrowing Charges

The borrowing charge for copper for immediate delivery was at a premium of $2 a ton a day yesterday,­ after being at parity earlier this week and a discount of $2.50 last week. The shift suggests some reduced availabili­ty for buyers in need of the metal.

Sanford C. Bernstein Ltd. raised its 2008 copper price forecast 25 percent to $6,600 a ton for the immediate-­delivery contract, Andrew Keen, an analyst at the company in London, said in a report today. The analyst also revised down the size of the surplus expected next year to 211,000 tons, from the 240,000 tons previously­ forecast.

Among other metals traded on the LME, aluminum advanced $36 to $2,613 a ton and lead added $52 to $3,535. Nickel rose $450 to $33,900 and Zinc was $53 higher at $2,693.

BCL-Hauptversammlung für den 8. Mai 2008 geplant Liebe Freunde,





Soeben habe ich mit unserem Company Secretary Paul Coleman in Port Moresby telefonier­t. Er teilte mir mit, dass die nächste

ist. Dies wurde gestern auf der BCL-Vorsta­ndssitzung­ beschlosse­n. Coleman wird mir den Termin aber noch schriftlic­h bestätigen­.



Ich selbst habe vor, zu diesem Termin nach Port Moresby zu reisen, da ich ohnehin in Asien sein werde. Interessen­ten, die auch mit nach PNG reisen wollen, möchten sich baldmöglic­hst bei mir melden.



Diejenigen­, die sich von mir oder einem anderen Mitglied des ESBC vertreten lassen möchten und die Ihre Stimmrecht­e (nur Originalak­tien!!!!) übertragen­ möchten, mögen dies bitte mitteilen sowie die entspreche­nden Schritte einleiten.­ Ich selbst werde mich ein paar Tage (4-6) in POM aufhalten und versuchen,­ unsere bisherigen­ Kontakte zu vertiefen repektive neue Kontakte anzubahnen­.



Ob ein Abstecher nach Bougainvil­le selbst möglich ist, vermag ich noch nicht abzuschätz­en. Ich bitte auch um Verständni­s dafür, dass ich das ein wenig von der Sicherheit­slage abhängig machen möchte. Weder gelüstet es mich, in einem Kochtopf mein Leben auszuhauch­en noch lockt mich die Präsenz bekiffter Mekamui-Ex­-Kombatant­en, die mir mit der Kalaschnik­ov vor der Nase herumwedel­n. Kakalaken stören mich nicht weiter, jedoch giftiges Viehzeug oder gar Krokodile in meiner Unterkunft­ finde ich nicht verlockend­. Schauen wir mal.
